7 Questions We Have After Watching That ‘Avengers Infinity War’ Trailer

The very first Avengers Infinity War trailer has just dropped online. At around 1.23pm this afternoon (UK), millions of film geek hearts went aflutter when Good Morning America exclusively revealed the promo for the film that arrives in cinemas next spring. Take a look at this.

Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War trailer

While we’re personally big fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we do have some urgent questions regarding what we’ve just witnessed.

What’s eating Tony Stark?

One of the opening shots of the trailer shows Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark/ Iron Man clearly upset about something. In fact, all of the way through the trailer he seems pretty zoned with some kind of beef. Does a major character in the franchise expire in the new movie?

Why does Vision look human?

Again, early in the trailer, we get a glimpse of Paul Bettany’s Vision getting close with Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olson), Infinity Stone gleaming in his forehead. The big question here is as to why we can see him in human form?

What’s that hovering over the New York skyline?

It looks like New York City is about to go through the ringer again. After meeting Peter Parker (Tom Holland) on a bus, hairs standing on end and his Spidey-sense in overdrive, we see some kind of circular object attract its attention outside the window. We’re guessing that this is a major threat to the city, something reinforced in the short clips that follow. Is Thanos involved? Probably.

Is this the suit from the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming?

At the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming (spoilers), Peter Parker almost got to join The Avengers and was offered a super hi-tech Spidey suit. We’re guessing he’s now a fully-fledged member of the team in the new movie, but is this that suit from Homecoming? It sure looks like it.

Who is this?

There’s a fleeting micro-second in the trailer when this person flashes up on the screen. Said character throws something very sharp and glowy in the general direction of who we presume to be Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther. Problem is that the trailer moves too quickly to see who he or she is? Is this a major moment from ‘Infinity War’ thrown in to get the fanboys ultra excited, or is it merely a minor character used to fill out this first promo. We’re guessing the former.

Doesn’t Captain America have a razor?

Marvel’s squeaky clean superhero Captain America (Chris Evans) has seemingly let himself got a bit and grown himself a full bush for this new adventure. This is all good, but we all know what happens when superheroes grow beards – they turn bad. Just look at Superman III for movie evidence.

Where do the Guardians fit into all of this?

I was wondering all the way through this as to where Chris Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy were through the catastrophic events that have seemed to have wiped out NYC (again). They show up at the end of the trailer meeting Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, who already looks a bit worse for wear and battle-torn. This begs the question, how much involvement do they have in this movie?

We’ll find out all of the above when Avengers: Infinity War opens on 27th April 2018.
